Mass Distribution → Center of Mass → System Motion

The center of mass represents the mass-weighted position of the chosen system. It lies closer to where more mass is concentrated. Individual particles can move internally, but only net external force determines how the center of mass accelerates.

Memory rule: define the system → locate its center of mass → identify the external force.

Example: If one of two separated objects is much heavier, the center of mass lies closer to the heavier object.
